A word about slowness of posting...

I am having serious fits with Blogger recently, to the tune of trying to post my review of Etat Libre d'Orange Tilda Swinton Like This for basically a week, but the posting page kept being far too broken to function.  As much as I love my blogger-blog, I am thinking of relocating to WordPress if this keeps up.  Anyone have any thoughts? Opinions? Advice?

Also, fall is already coming to Portland.  David's staff arrives this week!  Can you believe that photo above that I took?  For realsies.

"The summer ends and we wonder who we are.
And there you go, my friends, with your boxes in your car.
And today I passed the high school, the river, the maple tree.
I passed the farms that made it
through the last days of the century.
And I knew that I was going to learn again,
again, in this less hazy light
I saw the fields beyond the fields,
The fields beyond the fields..."

I've just learned that somewhere, somehow, Blogger is eating comments. Not so good.

I was advised back when I first started that Word Press is the one I *really* wanted, once I got past the initial learning curve. You may or may not have noticed a number of other blogs that made the switch.

I steam along in Blogger, though it is a service of The Devil (Google). But then I kept my AOL e-mail long past it's cool factor expiration date. (AIM much? Didn't think so. I just like my real name ID. Which is useful for The Devil, but of course, which somehow manages to see things come across my e-mail stream and target ads on Facebook for me.)

Them's my thoughts. I am SO sorry you are having trouble. Now to read about Tilda...

I love that you said 'for realsies!' Just used that in my most recent post and love to know that someone else uses it as well.

Yeah, cool picture. For realsies.

Blogger has always behaved perfectly nicely with me. Does that reflect my lack of daring in customizing my template, or am I in favor with The Devil? Neither sounds good.

ScentScelf, Wordpress is pretty easy to use, so I am thinking about migrating.

Generally, though, I -- like Chickenfreak -- don't think of Google as the devil. I tend to leave that to Microsoft, Apple, or Facebook....or a whole list of other things, when I think about it. While I agree the cross platform marketing is magically insidious, I also recognize that google makes a lot of really useful tools and one of the largest market proponents of free speech around today.

Joesphine -- Ummm, *yeah* I say for realsies. For realsies. :)

Oh, dear; I didn't make clear; the learning curve isn't tough...and certainly nothing you couldn't handle...I just meant some of us--okay, ME--were more comfortable with status quo than this issues of shifting over. WP is a great platform; go for it, if you like!!

Chickenfreak, you probably have thoroughly charmed Blogger and any devil that may be lurking anywhere. :) No issues = no worries = good thing. :) :)

As for devils and where they actually fall, and if they are entire? If only it were all black hats and white hats... :)

The picture is absolutely beautiful.

And after the ridiculous heat today, I can't wait for Fall to tease us again.
