Swine Flu! Oh noes!

No posts this week because both David and I have been felled by the dreaded h1n1, though apparently I caught the worse of it. I can't smell a darned thing. I sleep all the time. My ear hurts like the dickens. (Now wondering if inflicting Charles Dickinson on primary school children is where that saying comes from.) Anyhoo, More to come as soon as I'm functioning. Maybe another day or two.

Usually when I'm sick I turn to Mexican food and it's delicious spices for healing powers. But after a quart of chicken tortilla soup and chicken en mole from La Costita, a local favorite of mine -- no change. My other go-to sick food is chicken and dumplings. What do you tend to eat when you are sick?

You poor thing - I hope you feel better soon.

All of my family were ill last week, including me. When we're ill - it's Coke all the way. Stir out the bubbles (although don't let it go completely flat) and sip all day long. Probably terrible for your teeth but it beats any of those rehydration type sachets you can buy.

Sorry to hear that you've fallen ill to h1n1. Hopefully you recover soon.

I tend to like to have clear broth soups, like pho and chicken noodle.

My most favorite thing to eat when I was sick at LC was hot and sour soup from the Shanghai Noble House on McAdam. I would call in the order and then hop in my car. By the time I got there, it would be ready to go.

I hope you and David are feeling better soon!

Thai chicken soup-- Tom Ka Gai. My husband is Jewish, and we laugh about it being just like his grandma used to make. (Um... not really...) Spicy and savory enough to cut through the ick.

Sorry you're down for the count-- feel better soon!!
